Most adoptions occur when a parent agrees to waive his or her parental rights and allow another person to adopt the child. In some cases, a parent will not agree to waive his or her rights and the case is filed in a contested fashion, with the petitioner asking the Court to terminate the other parent’s rights. Whether it is a step-parent adoption, a grand-parent adoption, full adoption or re-adoption, Chad has represented clients in many such adoption cases.
