Chad Plumley is a native of Paulding County, Georgia.  Chad graduated from the University of Florida in 1993 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Classical Studies.

Chad received his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University, in Macon, Georgia.  Chad graduated from law school cum laude in 1997, and served on the Mercer Law review for two years.  Chad had a comment published in the Mercer Law review while in school: Why Coercion Should be a Defense in a Section 1 Case Involving Vertical Agreements, Mercer Law Review, Vol. 47 Pages 1761-1774, (1997).

 Chad is a member of both the Tennessee bar and the Georgia bar.  Chad was admitted to practice in Tennessee in the fall of 1997 and in Georgia in the summer of 2008.  Chad has worked as a law clerk for the Conasauga judicial circuit, an Associate for Kinney, Kemp, Sponcler, Joiner & Tharpe in Dalton, Georgia and as a sole practitioner before forming his current firm.  Chad has served as a Magistrate Judge for Paulding County from 2003-2010.  Chad has also served as a Judge Pro Tem for the City of Hiram, Georgia since 2007.  He is a registered General Mediator and Arbitrator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, and has also been appointed as a Special Master in several cases in the Paulding circuit. Chad has been a member of the local Indigent Defense Oversight Committee for the Paulding Judicial Circuit since its inception in 2004.

In the community, Chad has been very involved by participating with numerous civic and local groups. He is a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Paulding County as well as the Paulding County Bar Association.  Chad has served throughout the years on various boards in the community including the Boy’s and Girls Club, Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, Picket’s Mill District of the Boy Scouts of America, and Keep Paulding Beautiful.  He has also been a head coach and an assistant coach for his daughter’s soccer team at West Metro Soccer club for several years.
